Just tidbits from my life..

-My flight to Canada was in a tiny propeller-jet. With my arms extended, I could almost touch both walls of the plane at the same time. eek.

-Also on that flight, I sat next to a lady that played volleyball for Team Canada. They had just played in the Pan Am Cup in Mexicali. ‘Twas interesting to chat about her life. It’s fun to talk to people on planes. Meet the most random people.

-On my way back from Canada, I was pulled aside and checked for explosives by TSA O_O.

-Today, I saw 14 UPS vans all at once. It might have been a UPS parade.

-Going down to Socal tonight with my Mum and Kat.

-Finally, an oldie but a goodie:

when Bryan moved down to SoCal, he gave me 2 full loaves of wheat bread. Upon arrival at the church apt, I found 2 huge stacks of sliced cheese in the fridge. What to do with a month supply of bread and cheese?

2 words: GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES! (3 words actually)

PSA: If you want a grilled cheese sandwich, come to my place!

Last night, I dreamt that I had a hard time packing up to come home from Nicaragua. Why you ask? I had too many large stuffed animals that wouldn’t fit in my suitcase…

note to summer 08 nic team — don’t bring too many stuffed animals!

I have a sudden urge to see this movie O_O. Maybe because I am at work and I get all my sudden urges at work… Has anyone seen it? Is this a girl movie??? Sadness.

Wow, keeping this blog going is harder than I had imagined!

It’s almost 1am but I feel like blogging for some reason. I think reading Amy‘s blog had to do with it. and Francis Chan‘s. You should check ‘em out, very nice. Nice plug for ya’ll huh? That’ll be $10… jk. (Just so 30year old John remembers, Francis Chan spoke at the retreat where I decided to follow Jesus. Way back in 7th grade. If you’re curious about what that means, ask me =] )

Today I had dinner with Takuma and Rebekah at KC BBQ in Berkeley. That place has some gooood brisket. Not exactly smoked for 36 hours or anything, but it hit the spot. Huge portions, tasty sauce.

As I was parking my car, I noticed the license plate holder of the car in front of me said “Life Member”. Underneath it said “National Rifle Association.” O_O  I should have asked if he liked to shoot the breeze every now and then, but maybe better that I keep my jokes to myself. Or else…bang!

Ahhh this is supposed to be an update about life, not a post about my delicious brisket and my shotgun-toting neighbors.. Here goes:

-got back from Nicaragua about a month ago (still need to write my letter, supporter folks). Ooh, and I have gifts for my supporters too. But man, what a trip. In short, I remember telling Dave Son that if we had a hundred story-writers guess at what would happen on our missions trip, I bet none of them would be even close. Man, nothing thwarts God’s plans. Such a reminder that God can use anything for good and that He is in control. I’ll detail all this later.

-Still working at WIT. Eh, haven’t done too much recently, but took another trip out to the Newer Mexico and Arizona. Might go to Canada sometime! Speaking of traveling, I’m thinking about going back to Nicaragua again this summer O_O. and Kat is probably going!

-Kat and I celebrated our 1 year in January. My, where does the time go? But yes, very blessed to walk in life with her. Hm, what have I learned about her you ask? She likes.. Juno. and Previa’s and hamburger phones. green and brown. ice cream. and her small group.

-Lakers swept the Nuggets. 1st 50-win team to get swept in the first round ever. NBA playoffs this year are pretty exciting. I hope for a Celtics-Lakers final. But hm, the C’s are tied with the Hawks at 2 games apiece in a best of 7. Go figure. (Ok this doesn’t have to do with my life, but hey it’s kinda exciting)

-Started using Google Reader, Ubuntu (Hardy Heron 8.04 released this week!), and Desktoptopia. So far all three have been fantastic. Some reviews are upcoming, I suppose.

-Will be starting up the ol’ book club with Kat and friends again. Anybody want to join? Our next book will be The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. I hear it’s a good book. If you’re not local you can still participate — maybe we can do something online. Technology these days. My goodness.

-Oh, almost forgot. Living Water Church. I’ve been going here since July and it’s been a huge blessing. I’ve been singing on choir for few months and that’s been a lotta fun.
